Darwasophyllum was named by Pyzhyanov (1964) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp C Mosc-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Geyerophyllidae by Hill (1981) and Rodriguez and Bamber (2012).
