Taxonomy
Hyperdichobune hammeli was named by Sudre (1978). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Bchs 570, Coll. MHN Bale., a mandible (partial right mandible with P4-M2). Its type locality is Bouxwiller, which is in a Lutetian terrestrial marl in France.
