Taxonomy
Trichaster was named by Agassiz (1836). It is extant. It is the type genus of Trichasterinae.
It was assigned to Trichasterinae by Matsumoto (1915); and to Euryalidae by Spencer and Wright (1966), Jagt (2000) and O'Hara et al. (2018).
