Mesotremaster felli was named by Hess (1972). It is not extant. Its type locality is Echinoderms, Oberer Hauptrogenstein, Late Bajocian, Schinznach, Aargau, which is in a Bajocian open shallow subtidal grainstone/marl in Switzerland.
