W. L. Crepet and K. C. Nixon 1989Staminate catkins robust, branched and apparently erect in life with crowded dichasia of small perigon and more than six stamens with a small anthers. Pollen tricolporate, prolate (P/E = 1.37), small (ave. diam 22 micrometer) with a geniculus. Exine tectate columellate with a relatively thick footlayer (fl/t = 0.6) and micromorphology wovenvermiform (vermiform elements ca. 0.22 micrometers in diam), with the vermiform elements occasionally braided
