P. Goubet et al. 2000 | There are two main tyoes of N. pentias pinnules. The first is large, elongated and cordate with a well-marked midvein. The other is small, rounded, and broadly attached with rachial veins that originate rom the axis. In the larger pinnules, the secondary veins are think and oblique; the larger pinnules and terminal pinnules usually have an acute apex.
N. pentias should be considered a separate species from N. pocahontas because the differences in the shape of the distal part of the larger pinnules and venation between the species. |
