P. Goubet et al. 2000 | N. smithsii has small pinnules that are often ovoid or round, but sometimes triangular. Pinnules are attached perpendicularly to the rachis. Venation is course and widely spaced, with a distinct midvein. N. smithsii is morphologically similar to, but distinct from N. schlehanii and N. pocohontas. The differences between N. smithsii and the other two species are geographic and stratographic. |
