Arctosaurus osborni

Taxonomy
Arctosaurus osborni was named by Adams (1875). Its type specimen is NMI 62 1971, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rendezvous Mountain, Cameron Island, which is in a Triassic terrestrial sandstone in the Heiberg Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Arctosaurus.

It was considered a nomen vanum by Welles (1984); it was considered a nomen dubium by Nesbitt et al. (2007).
