Coniophis precedens

Taxonomy
Coniophis precedens was named by Marsh (1892). Its type specimen is USNM 2134 (single thoracic vertebra) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Barbara, which is in a Holocene marine horizon in the Netherlands Antilles. It is the type species of Coniophis.
