Podokesaurus holyokensis
Taxonomy
Podokesaurus holyokensis was named by Talbot (1911) [type specimen has been destroyed]. Its type specimen is Mount Holyoke College, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boynton farm, South Hadley, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial sandstone in the Portland Formation of Massachusetts.
It was recombined as Coelophysis holyokensis by Colbert (1964), Swinton (1970) and Steel (1970); it was considered a nomen dubium by Rowe and Gauthier (1990).
