Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
N. R. Longrich et al. 2013Caenagnathid characterized by large size (symphyseal length approximately 60 mm, dentary length approximately 160 mm; mandible length greater than 200 mm). Dentary long and low. Dentary narrow in dorsal view, with posterior rami weakly bowed outward, diverging at an angle of approximately 15°. Tip of beak flattened, shovel shaped and projecting anteriorly. Symphysis not downturned. Tip of beak with three symphyseal ridges, including a large median ridge. Symphyseal shelf extended caudally between lingual shelves. Dentary excluded from dorsal margin of external mandibular fenestra by anterior process of surangular. Posterodorsal process of dentary elongate, extending posteriorly below the coronoid eminence of the surangular. Surangular slender and straplike in lateral view. Ventral flange of surangular weakly developed. Lateral cotyle of articular extremely reduced.
