It was assigned to Lygodieae by Chandler (1962) and Chandler (1963); to Polypodiaceae by Chauhan (1991); to Schizaeaceae by Gardner and Ettingshausen (1880), Knowlton (1919), MacGinitie (1941), Chandler (1961), Lakhanpal et al. (1976) and Mabberley (2000); and to Lygodiaceae by I (2016).
