Taxonomy
Desmodium indentum was named by MacGinitie (1941). Its type specimen is U.C. Mus. Pal. Paleobot. Ser. holotype no. 2250. Its type locality is UCMP loc. P3320, Buckeye Flat, which is in an Eocene floodplain claystone in California.
