Taxonomy
Nerium hinoidea was named by MacGinitie (1941). Its type specimen is U.C. Mus. Pal. Paleobot. Ser. cotypes nos. 2327, 2328, 2329. Its type locality is Chalk Bluffs Locality 3325, which is in an Eocene floodplain claystone in California.
