Taxonomy
Heintzella was named by Fedorowski (1967) [Sepkoski's age data: C Step-u P Sakm Sepkoski's reference number: 1240]. It is not extant. Its type is Heintzella multiseptata.

It was assigned to Dibunophyllinae by Hill (1981); to Heritschioididae by Sando (1985); to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Kleopatrinidae by Stevens (2010).
