Latium was named by Blome (1984) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Tr Nori-m Sepkoski's reference number: 707].

It was synonymized subjectively with Japonocampe by O'Dogherty et al. (2009).

It was assigned to Pseudodictyomitridae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
