Taxonomy
Heritschioides was named by Yabe (1950) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 856]. It is not extant. Its type is Waagenophyllum columbicum. It is the type genus of Heritschioididae.

It was assigned to Durhaminidae by Hill (1981); to Heritschioididae by Sando (1985); to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Heritschioidinae by Fedorowski et al. (2013).
