Taxonomy
Nesolutra ichnusae was named by Malatesta (1977). It is not extant. Its type locality is Patrizi Cuniculus, Grottadi Nettuno, which is in a Quaternary cave sandstone in Italy.
It was recombined as Sardolutra ichnusae by Malatesta (1977), Willemsen (1992), Willemsen (2006) and Cherin et al. (2016).
