Magallon-Puebla et al. 1996Flower small, ca. 2.75 mm from base to tip of anthers; calyx comprising irregular lobes of floral cup; petals laminar and parallel-margined; two androecial whorls, each with five fertile stamens; anthers with the adaxial pollen sac slightly shorter and narrower than the abaxial one, abaxial tangential surface of connective wider than the adaxial tangential surface, introrse; connective protrusion with a bulbous apex; pollen grains with a line of gemmae on the membrane of each colpi.
