Calomyscus delicatus was named by Aguilar et al. (1984) [Type specimen is an upper M1 (dimensions 1.46 x 0.90mm), held in the collections of the Universty of Montpellier.]. Its type specimen is SAL 109.. Its type locality is Salobreña, which is in the Miocene of horizon Spain.
