Taxonomy
Pseudopisthophyllum was named by Geyer (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith-u K l Sepkoski's reference number: 658,868]. It is not extant. Its type is Pseudopisthophyllum berckhemeri.

It was assigned to Amphiastreidae by Geyer (1955); to Amphiastraeidae by Eliasova (1975); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Opisthophyllidae by Baron-Szabo (2003).
