Taxonomy
Dombeya novimundi was named by Hickey (1977). It is not extant. Its type specimen is USNM 43710. Its type locality is Crooked Creek (USNM 14092), which is in a Wasatchian channel sandstone/shale in the Golden Valley Formation of North Dakota.
