Ornithosuchus longidens

Taxonomy
Dasygnathus longidens was named by Huxley (1877). Its type specimen is ELGNM 1R, a maxilla, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Findrassie Quarries, 1 km east Findrassie House, which is in a Carnian/Norian dune sandstone in the Lossiemouth Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Ornithosuchus.

It was recombined as Ornithosuchus longidens by Walker (1964), Nesbitt (2011) and Von Baczko and Ezcurra (2013).
