The Angiosperm Phylogeny Group 2016Allantospermum Forman has historically alternated between Ixonanthaceae and Irvingiaceae, but most recently has been considered in Ixonanthaceae (Byng, 2014; Kubitzki, 2014). Recently, J.W. Byng (unpubl. data) has shown Allantospermum to be sister to the rest of Irvingiaceae rather than Ixonanthaceae.
