Taxonomy
Equisetum cascadensis was named by Lapasha and Miller (1985). Its type specimen is UMPM No. 934. Its type locality is Great Falls Locality 10, which is in an Aptian lacustrine shale/sandstone in the Kootenai Formation of Montana.
