It was corrected as Macgea by Kiessling (2003).

It was assigned to Phacellophyllinae by Hill (1956); to Rugosa by Kaplan (1968); to Phillipsastreidae by Coen-Aubert and Wrzolek (1991); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002) and Kiessling (2003).
