Thescelus rapiens

Taxonomy
Thescelus rapiens was named by Hay (1908). Its type specimen is AMNH 6066, a partial shell (partially damaged shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is west of Chaco Canyon, Ojo Alamo (AMNH), which is in a Campanian terrestrial shale/sandstone in the Kirtland Formation of New Mexico.

It was synonymized subjectively with Thescelus insiliens by Gaffney (1972).
