Tephrocyon scitulus

Taxonomy
Tephrocyon scitulus was named by Hay (1924). Its type specimen is TMM-TAMU 2380 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Garvin Gully, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Oakville Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Tomarctus scitulus by Green (1948); it was synonymized subjectively with Cynodesmus iamonensis by Wilson (1960); it was synonymized subjectively with Osbornodon iamonensis by Wang (1994); it was recombined as Osbornodon scitulus by Wang (2003).
