Taxonomy
Cupressinocladus was named by Seward (1919). It is not extant. Its type is Cupressinocladus valdensis.

It was assigned to Coniferophyta by Andrews (1970); to Cupressaceae by Christophel (1976); and to Cheirolepidiaceae by Watson (1977).
