Taxonomy
Laevisuchus indicus was named by Huene (1933) [Named by Huene in Huene & Matley 1933.]. Its type specimen is GSI K20/614, K20/613, K27/696, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bara Simla, Jabalpur [Carnosaur Bed], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Lameta Formation of India.

M. T. Carrano and S. D. Sampson 2008Laevisuchus is extremely fragmentary and only a single vertebra remains of the four original type specimens, although it is quite likely that many of the small Lameta theropod specimens pertain to Laevisuchus. Thus we face the same problem as with Genusaurus, and tentatively accept the validity of Laevisuchus while acknowledging that it cannot be diagnosed at this time
