Taxonomy
Ictidognathus hemburyi was named by Broom (1912). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beaufort West Commonage (Tropidostoma & Cistecephalus Assemblage Zone), which is in a Capitanian/Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Teekloof Formation of South Africa.
