Taxonomy
Carbonoproetus zeuxo was named by Hahn et al. (1996). Its type specimen is SMF 42970 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bad Grund, quarry and slope at the Iberg-Winterberg, which is in an Ivorian carbonate limestone in the Erdbach Limestone Formation of Germany.
