Taxonomy
Oriostomatacea was named by Wenz (1938) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10036; elevated by Knight et al. (1960), ref. #10229]. It is not extant. Its type is Oriostoma.

It was corrected as Oriostomatoidea by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975), Wagner (1999), Jeffery (2003), Bouchet et al. (2005) and Wagner (2017).

It was assigned to Trochina by Knight et al. (1960); to Anisobranchia by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975); to Vetigastropoda by Jeffery (2003); to Neritimorpha by Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Euomphalina by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2017).
