Taxonomy
Cricetodon jotae was named by Mein and Freudenthal (1971). Its type specimen is IPMC MA 983, a tooth (M1 sup, sin.), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Manchones, which is in the Miocene of horizon Spain.
