Rinchenia mongoliensis
Taxonomy
Oviraptor mongoliensis was named by Barsbold (1986). Its type specimen is IGM 100/32, a skull (scapula), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altan Ula II [SMPE] (PIN coll. 553), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Rinchenia mongoliensis by Barsbold (1997), Osmólska et al. (2004), Weishampel et al. (2008), Balanoff et al. (2009), Xu and Han (2010), Longrich et al. (2010), Fanti et al. (2012), Tsogtbaatar et al. (2014), Lamanna et al. (2014), Tsuihiji et al. (2015), Wang et al. (2016), Funston et al. (2018), Lee et al. (2019), Rhodes et al. (2020), Funston (2020) and Funston et al. (2021).
