Taxonomy
Paracyclotosaurus davidi was named by Watson (1958) [The holotype specimen is a cast (made from a mold of a cast from the ironstone matrix containing the original poorly-preserved bone).]. Its type specimen is BMNH R60000. Its type locality is St. Peter's brickpits, Paracyclotosaurus davidi holotype locality, which is in an Anisian terrestrial ironstone in the Ashfield Shale Formation of Australia.
