Taxonomy
Trigonolophodon elegans was named by Roth (1904). Its type specimen is Not listed, a set of teeth (varios premolares y molares superiores y una mandíbula inferior á la que le faltan solamente los incisivos), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Blanco, Mustersan, which is in a Mustersan terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
