Taxonomy
Paffrathia was named by Frýda (2000) [originally named in Frýda 1998b (dissertation; ref # 15935)]. It is the type genus of Paffrathiinae.
It was assigned to Paffrathinae by Heidelberger (2001) and Heidelberger and Koch (2005); to Paffrathiinae by Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Platyceratidae by Wagner (2023).
