Archaeotypotherium propheticus

Taxonomy
Archaeohyrax propheticus was named by Ameghino (1897). Its type specimen is MACN A52-618, symphysis and portion of right horizontal ramus bearing right i1-2, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Archaeotypotherium propheticus by Croft (2000).

Synonyms
  • Archaeohyrax concentricus was named by Ameghino (1901). Its type specimen is MACN A52-625, a maxilla (incomplete facial region of skull with left I1-M2 and right I1-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Archaeotypotherium propheticus by Croft (2000).
