Taxonomy
Paraipciphyllum was named by Wu (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-l P Guad-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Paraipciphyllum elegantum.

It was assigned to Waagenophyllinae by Minato and Kato (1965) and Hill (1981); to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Waagenophyllidae by Wang and Sugiyama (2002).
