Megarachne was named by Hünicken (1980). It is not extant. Its type is Megarachne servinei.
It was assigned to Araneae by Hünicken (1980); to Woodwardopteridae by Selden et al. (2005); and to Mycteropidae by Lamsdell et al. (2010) and Dunlop et al. (2020).
