Anthozoa - Stauriida - Petalaxidae

Petalaxis was named by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Mosc Sepkoski's reference number: 856,1240]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Lithostrotion by Hill (1956).

It was assigned to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Petalaxidae by Bamber and Fedorowski (1998) and Fedorowski et al. (2007).
