Tathiodon agilis

Taxonomy
Tanaodon agilis was named by Simpson (1927) [NOT A MOLLUSK! NOT A MOLLUSK!]. Its type specimen is YPM 13649, a mandible (left mandible with two molars), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Tathiodon, Tanaodon.

It was recombined as Tathiodon agilis by Simpson (1927), Simpson (1929), Kraus (1979) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
