Tathiodon agilis

Taxonomy
Tanaodon agilis was named by Simpson (1927) [NOT A MOLLUSK! NOT A MOLLUSK!]. Its type specimen is YPM 13649, a mandible (left mandible with two molars), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Tathiodon, Tanaodon.

It was recombined as Tathiodon agilis by Simpson (1927), Simpson (1929), Hay (1930), Kraus (1979) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
