Telmabates antiquus
Taxonomy
Telmabates antiquus was named by Howard (1955). Its type specimen is A.M.N.H. No. 3170, a partial skeleton (associated elements of most of the postcranial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cañadon Hondo, Bird Clay locality, which is in a Casamayoran lacustrine claystone/tuff in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
