Taxonomy
Arvaldus stintoni was named by Cray (1973). Its type locality is Headon Hill Lignite Bed, Isle of Wight, which is in the Eocene of claystone/lignite the Upper Headon Beds Formation the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Arvaldus.
