Taxonomy
Bulimella canaliculata was named by Hall (1856). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bulimorpha canaliculata by Whitfield (1882), Hall (1883), Keyes (1889), Cumings (1906), Girty (1915) and Snider (1915); it was recombined as Girtyspira canaliculata by Thein and Nitecki (1974), Pan and Erwin (2002) and Wagner (2023).
