Taxonomy
Trochus gotlandicus was named by Lindström (1884). It is the type species of Siluriphorus.

It was recombined as Raphistomina gothlandicus by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Discordichilus gotlandicus by Wagner (1999); it was recombined as Siluriphorus gotlandicus by Cossmann (1918), Philip and Talent (1959), Tassell (1976) and Wagner (2023).
