Coelostylodon florentinoameghinoi

Taxonomy
Coelostylodon florentinoameghinoi was named by Simpson (1970) [MMP = Museo Municipal de Ciencias Naturales de Mar del Plata]. Its type specimen is MMP 723M, right C and P3-M3; skull, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in an Eocene terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Coelostylodon.

It was synonymized subjectively with Plexotemnus complicatissimus by Bond and López (1993).
