Taxonomy
Maclurea crenulata was named by Billings (1865). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Maclurites crenulata by Rohr (1980); it was recombined as Maclurites crenulatus by Desbiens et al. (1996); it was recombined as Monitorella crenulata by Rohr and Measures (2001); it was recombined as Palliseria crenulata by Wagner (2017).
