Taxonomy
Malayaspira rugosa was named by Kobayashi (1958). It is not extant. Its type locality is Kangar, Perlis, which is in a Fennian carbonate limestone in the Lower Setul Formation of Malaysia.
It was recombined as Ecculiomphalus rugosus by Wagner (1999).
